With apologies to Neil Armstrong. And David Bowie. I guess.

Ground control to Neil Armstrong.
Commencing countdown, engines on.
Check ignition and may God's love be with you.

This is ground control to Neil Armstrong, you've really made the grade
Such a kind man, the papers say your heart was too big to bear.
Where you’re going no one will ever steal your hair.

Some say you punched some dude in the face,
For questioning the Space Race,
But you were a peaceful gentleman,
That prick was Buzz Aldrin.
And now you’re floating in a most peculiar way,
And the stars look very different today
Sitting in a tin can far above the world
You put up your thumb, blotted out the Earth

Though you’re past one hundred thousand miles, it’s okay now to be still
You of all of us know which way to go [Up]
Just know we love you very much, just in case you didn’t know
Ground control to Neil Armstrong, now that you’re dead, there's something wrong,
Can you hear us Neil Armstrong?
Can you hear us Neil Armstrong?
Can you...

Once you walked there, now you’re sitting on the moon,
You’re gone and Earth is blue, and there’s nothing we can do.

[This was meant with as much respect as possible, for a man that was pretty much everyone's hero at one point in their lives. You shall be missed. August 5, 1930-August 25, 2012]

  1. Well, I think this rules.

  2. Thanks, man. Means a lot coming from you.
